Joshua J. Whiting, Ph.D.
Managing Director of Research and Development

Joshua is a co-founder and the Managing Director of Research and Development. Prior to founding the company he was a Project Research Analytical Chemist at LECO, Corp and a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories in the Micro Total Analytical Systems Department. He has an extensive background in the design and development of portable gas chromatographs (GC). Recent efforts have included work within the DARPA-MGA program to develop the smallest fastest portable comprehensive two dimensional GC (GCxGC) system. He received his M.S. in chemistry from Wright State University under Professor George Hess, and his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Michigan working for Professor Richard Sacks. His research interests include development of portable, low-power, GC systems for rapid detection and identification of analytes of interest utilizing MEMS components.




Pete Stevens, Ph.D.
Technical Director of Analytical Sciences

Pete is a co-founder and the Technical Director of Analytical Sciences. Prior to founding the company he was an Applications Chemist at LECO Corporation. He has an extensive background in GCxGC method development, hardware, theory and education. He also has significant experience with both commercial and custom GCxGC instrumentation. He received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Michigan, working for Professor Richard Sacks. His research interests include the GCxGC analysis of human breath as a tool for medical diagnostics, GCxGC for metabolomics research, and the development of instrumentation for environmental, defense and homeland security applications
